She Walks Past Three Times Before She Finally Stops
First walk-by she glanced. Second one she slowed down. Third time she just parked herself right there and watched. Took three passes but she committed.
About this scene
Big-box store aisle, weekday afternoon. She is a shopper, twenties. The flash is at the end of the aisle. She walks past the first time at normal speed. She walks past the second time slower. She walks past the third time and stops walking entirely. She just stands there and looks. The whole sequence takes about ninety seconds. By the third pass she has stopped pretending to shop.
What to watch for
The three-pass commitment is the structural beat. Each pass has different walking speed. The first is normal. The second is half. The third is full stop. The body language opens up across the three passes. By the third her shoulders are back, her chin is up, and her hands are at her sides. She is not pretending. She is just looking. After about thirty more seconds she finally walks away. She does not come back for a fourth pass.
