Store Worker Drops What She Was Holding
She was restocking a shelf, turned around, and whatever was in her hands hit the floor. Forgot all about the inventory after that.
About this scene
Big-box store aisle, weekday late morning. She is a store worker, late twenties, in a uniform vest, restocking a shelf. A can of something is in her hand mid-shelf. The flash happens across the aisle. The can drops. It lands loud on the linoleum. She does not pick it up right away. Her manager walks past at one point during the next minute and gives her a look. She still does not pick it up.
What to watch for
The dropped can is the abandoned task. Most workers would retrieve it immediately. She does not. The can sits on the floor for over a minute. The manager's pass-by is the suspense beat. The look the manager gives is meaningful but not verbal. After the manager leaves she finally crouches down to pick the can up. The label is dented now. She puts it on the shelf with the dent facing back. Inventory management will discount it later.
