Older Brazilian woman on the train kept sneaking looks at the bulge right next to her seat. She tried to be subtle about it but wasn’t. Every few seconds her eyes went right back down.

She locks her gaze on it. Her focus is unbroken across three station stops. He notices about a minute in and her stare does not break for his awareness either. The train continues and so does her concentration.
What to watch for
The duration is the standout. Three stations is roughly five minutes of train time. She maintains the gaze the entire time. Most public stares break within thirty seconds. Hers does not. He shifts position twice, presumably uncomfortable with the attention. The shifts do not deter her. By the third station her stop arrives and she has to leave. She stands up, exits the train, and the doors close on him still at the pole. She did not break eye contact until the doors physically separated them.
