BBC Out In The Store While A Girl Pretends To Shop
She was hovering. Not shopping, hovering. The BBC was fully out and this girl circled the same display four times pretending she couldn’t find what she was looking for. She found it. It was the dick.
About this scene
Big-box store grocery aisle, mid-afternoon. She is a shopper in jeans, mid-twenties, holding a box of pasta. The BBC is at the end of the aisle. She has been holding the same box for forty-five seconds. She has not read the label once. Her eyes are angled past the box at his lap. The pasta box is the cover. She is not deciding what to buy. She is using it as an excuse to stand there.
What to watch for
The unread label is the visual cue. Her eyes track right past the front of the box every time her head tilts down toward it. By the end of the clip she has been holding the box long enough to memorize the ingredients. She has not memorized anything. About a minute in she turns the box over to look at the back, briefly, then turns it right side up again without absorbing the information. The box never gets put in her basket. She returns it to the shelf, on the wrong side.
