About this scene
Public sidewalk, midday. She's twenties, walking past a storefront. The flash is at the entrance. Her jaw drops literally, mouth open, and the open-mouth state lasts a full five seconds without her closing it. She is not making any sound. She just forgot the muscle that closes her mouth. After five seconds her hand goes up to her chin like she's just realizing it's still open. Then she closes it and walks past at half speed.
What to watch for
The five-second open-mouth is the freeze frame the clip is built around. Most jaw drops are figurative. Hers is literal and timed in real seconds. The hand-to-chin is the closing mechanism, which means her body needed external help to do something autonomic. She closes the mouth, blinks twice, and her stride resumes at half her original pace. About thirty feet down the sidewalk she's still slightly slack-jawed and you can see her actively press her lips together once to reset.
