Outdoor public space, afternoon. She is walking with her boyfriend. The flash registers in her sight line first. She taps his arm and points. He turns to look. His face goes through four expressions in six seconds. None of them are words. He does not know what to say. He looks at her, then back at the angle, then at her again, then his face just settles into something between confused and resigned.
What to watch for
The boyfriend's silence is the comedic moment. He is asked to react to something he was not expecting. He has no reaction prepared. His face does the work because his mouth cannot. The four expressions are sequential and identifiable. After the fourth he finally says something to her. The audio is too quiet to make out. She laughs and pats his arm. They walk on together. He does not look back. She does, once.
