Mother and daughter shopping together and they both saw it at the same time. The mom grabbed her daughter’s arm and they had one of those silent conversations with just their eyes. Awkward gold.
About this scene
Big-box store aisle, weekday afternoon. She is a chubby mom, thirties, shopping with her teenage daughter. They are in the same aisle when the flash happens at the end. Mom registers it first. Mom laughs. Daughter is horrified. The walk out of the store is mostly mom teasing the daughter about it for the next several minutes. The daughter does not find it funny. Mom finds it very funny.
What to watch for
The generational gap is the comedy. Mom is unfazed and mostly amused. Daughter is mortified and wants to leave the store immediately. Mom takes her time finishing the shopping and uses the rest of the trip to tease the daughter. The daughter walks slightly ahead the whole time, refusing to engage. By the time they reach the parking lot the daughter is in the car and mom is laughing alone next to it. Daughter pretends to be on her phone. Mom is still laughing as she loads the trunk.
