She’s Loading Groceries And Looks Up At Exactly The Wrong Second
Bags in the trunk, bent over loading them, looked up to see where her cart was and saw something else entirely. The grocery loading got real slow after that.
About this scene
Grocery store parking lot, midday. She's loading bags into her open trunk, milk carton in one hand, paper bag in the other. She glances over at the next parking spot and the timing is exactly wrong. The flash is at her line of sight. Both her hands stop. The milk carton is still suspended in midair. The bag drops to the asphalt. She does not pick it up immediately. Her face goes through the full reaction sequence in about four seconds.
What to watch for
The dropped bag is the involuntary response. Her hand simply lets go. Watch the items inside. They roll out of the bag onto the asphalt. She does not move to retrieve them for almost ten seconds. By the time she finally bends down to pick them up, two oranges have rolled under her car and a can of soup has gotten under the back tire. She has to drag the can out by hand. The whole cleanup takes another minute.
