The hand stops hovering. She does not pick either bottle. The hand drops to her side. The cart she's pushing does not move. The shopping list in her other hand drifts down toward the cart handle and rests there. She is no longer planning dinner.
What to watch for
The pasta sauce is the abandoned task. She came in with a clear shopping mission. The mission gets paused. Watch the bottles on the shelf. They stay where they are. She does not return to them after the encounter ends. The cart eventually moves but it is steered out of the aisle, away from the sauce shelf. About six minutes later, when she's at the register, her cart contains everything on her list except the sauce. She forgot to circle back.
