Ebony Woman At The Bus Stop Pretends She Isn’t Looking
She had a whole act going. Looking at the bus schedule, checking her watch, scrolling her phone. All while keeping it in her peripheral vision the whole time. She wasn’t fooling anybody.
About this scene
Bus stop shelter, late afternoon, just her under the canopy. She's an ebony woman in her thirties, in a fitted dress and sneakers. The flash is from the bench across the street. She keeps her face pointed at the schedule poster on the inside wall of the shelter. Her eyes do not stay on the schedule. They drift to the right, hold for three seconds, and snap back. Then it happens again. Three drifts in twenty seconds. The bus does not arrive.
What to watch for
The drift pattern is regular. Approximately every six seconds her eyes slide right and stay there for three seconds before snapping back. The schedule poster is not changing. She is rereading the same line repeatedly because she is not actually reading it. The bus is late. By the time it finally arrives she has done the drift seven times. She gets on the bus and takes a window seat that faces the bench from the moving angle.
