Skinny Blonde Freezes Mid-Step Between The Aisles
Tall, skinny blonde browsing the aisles when she caught a flash in her peripheral vision. She turned, confirmed what she saw, and then pretended to be very interested in whatever was on the shelf next to her.
About this scene
Big-box store, mid-afternoon, slow shopper traffic. She's a skinny blonde, twenties, in jeans and a t-shirt, walking the transition between two aisles. The flash is at her line of sight as she steps from one to the next. One foot is forward, the other in the air mid-stride. Her body just stops. The raised foot stays raised. She holds the half-step pose for almost three seconds before her body remembers how to walk and the foot comes down.
What to watch for
The frozen mid-stride is anatomically unusual. Her balance is on one leg with the other suspended. People do not normally stand like that. Most reactions involve at least continuing the step. Hers does not. Watch her arms. They were swinging mid-walk and they also stop. Both arms hold their walking position for the full three seconds. When she finally completes the step she is unsteady for a half-beat before her gait normalizes. She walks past him without looking again.
