Outdoor sidewalk, weekday afternoon, light foot traffic. She's a white girl, twenties, in a skirt and a t-shirt, alone. The flash hits her at fifteen feet and her face does five distinct expressions in three seconds. Shock comes first. Confusion follows. Then actual laughter. Then embarrassment. Then the deliberate face-reset for whoever the next person on the sidewalk is going to be. The whole sequence is captured in one continuous shot.
What to watch for
The five-emotion progression is the entire video and it plays out in normal time, no slow-mo. Each beat has its own micro-expression on her face. The laugh is the most surprising one because she did not see it coming and you can hear her exhale through it. The embarrassment is what follows the laugh, because she heard her own laugh and felt seen. The reset face is the last beat and it's the one she chooses for the next stranger she'll pass.
