Outdoor garden party, late afternoon. She's a brunette in a white sundress, walking past with a glass of wine. The first look as she passes is normal. About ten feet down she starts the second look, and it takes six full seconds to complete. Her neck rotates by stages, with two visible micro-resets where she nearly turns back forward and then continues the rotation. By the time her gaze fully reaches him she's almost facing the wrong direction.
What to watch for
The slow double-take is comic timing in real time. Most double takes are sharp. Hers is languid. The two micro-resets are her brain trying to be polite and failing. Watch her wine glass. The wine sloshes over the rim once during the second reset. She does not notice. By the time the rotation is complete her body is almost completely turned toward him and she has to take an actual step back to face her original direction. The whole maneuver takes about ten seconds and is the most extended reaction in the dataset.
