She Calls Her Friend Over And Her Friend Actually Runs
Waved her friend over with urgency like she found a hundred dollar bill on the ground. Friend jogged over and both of them stood there in disbelief.
About this scene
Big-box store aisle, afternoon. She waves once across the aisle to her friend, who is at the far end pushing a cart. The first wave is normal and gets no reaction. The second wave is bigger and faster, more urgent. The friend looks up, registers the urgency, abandons the cart, and breaks into an actual jog to cover the forty feet between them. She arrives breathless and follows the first one's eyes to the flash without needing instructions.
What to watch for
The escalation in the wave is the prompt. Most friend-summons are casual. The second wave is loud enough to read as emergency. The friend's response is therefore disproportionate. The jog is real. The cart she abandoned does not move and they leave it there for the next two minutes while they both watch the flash. When they finally remember the cart it has rolled six inches to the right because the floor is uneven. They retrieve it and continue shopping with the cart now tilted in their conversation.
